Welcome to Homeschool Thrift. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Homeschool Thrift, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Homeschool Thrift is an online marketplace that connects homeschool families to buy and sell used curriculum, books, and educational materials. We provide the platform to facilitate these transactions but are not a party to any sale between users.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Listing and Selling

  • Sellers must provide accurate descriptions and photos of items listed for sale.
  • Listings must be for homeschool curriculum, books, or educational materials only.
  • Sellers are responsible for setting fair prices and fulfilling sales in a timely manner.
  • We reserve the right to remove listings that violate these terms or are otherwise inappropriate.

5. Buying

  • Buyers are responsible for reviewing listing details before initiating a purchase.
  • All transactions are between the buyer and seller. Homeschool Thrift does not guarantee any transaction.
  • Buyers should communicate directly with sellers through our messaging system regarding any questions or concerns.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to circumvent any security features of the platform.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the service without permission.
  • List items that are not related to homeschool education or curriculum.

7. Premium Subscriptions and Billing

Homeschool Thrift offers optional Premium subscriptions that provide additional features and benefits.

  • Free Trial: New users may receive a free trial period to access Premium features. Trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
  • Billing Cycles: Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) depending on the plan you select.
  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through our payment processor, Paddle. By subscribing, you agree to their terms of service.
  • Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled.
  • Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation: You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period.
  • Your subscription will not renew for the next billing period.
  • No further charges will be made.

Refund Policy:

  • No Partial Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. If you cancel, you retain access until the end of your paid period.
  • Trial Period: If you cancel during a free trial period, you will not be charged.
  • Billing Errors: If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at support@homeschoolthrift.com within 30 days of the charge. We will review and issue refunds for verified billing errors.
  • Exceptional Circumstances: Refunds for other circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.

9. Group Subscriptions

Group subscriptions (for homeschool co-ops and groups) are subject to the same billing and refund policies as individual subscriptions, with these additional terms:

  • The group owner/administrator is responsible for managing the subscription and payments.
  • Premium access is provided to group members as determined by the group owner.
  • Members may lose access if removed from the group or if the group subscription is canceled.

10. Intellectual Property

The Homeschool Thrift name, logo, and all related branding are our property. Users retain ownership of content they post but grant us a license to display it on the platform as needed to operate the service.

11. Limitation of Liability

Homeschool Thrift is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to disputes between buyers and sellers, lost or damaged items, or service interruptions.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may also delete your account at any time through your profile settings. If your account is terminated for violations, you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your subscription.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
